Our Charity for 2013 - LIV Village

rescue a child, restore a life, raise a leader, and release a star.

Tich and Joan Smith
LIV founders.
Thanks to The Sharks and Top Billing (after a segment on the village and Pat Lambie last year) we here at Fairytales and Stalkers found a charity that we truly believe in!  The LIV village in Verulam, Durban is a place that has a vision, to look after the vulnerable children of South Africa.  Founded by Tich Smith and his wife Joan, their vision was to build 10 000 villages all over that would positively impact the lives of 500 orphans in each village! Through these villages 5 million orphans would be raised "the right way".  The children would be "rescued, raised and rebuilt to become future leaders impacting the continent of Africa, reaching out to other orphans".  Tich and Joan believe that the church is the answer to the growing problem of orphans in South Africa, Africa and the world!  We too share their beliefs and this is why we have chosen the LIV village to be our charity for 2013.  Through our blog we hope to raise awareness to our followers, readers, families and friends about this wonderful job that Tich and Joan are doing in Verulam. (Too read more on the vision Tich has read HERE)

Not only does the village boast homes for the vulnerable children that need them with house mothers to love and care for each child but the village also boasts a school and Church, two of the main things a child needs if they wish to succeed in life.

We are happy to see that there are many wonderful people all over South Africa and the world that are interested in helping this village. From Sharks players to SARCENS players (thanks to John Smit), swimmers and cricketers to everyday South Africans people are showing their love and support to the LIV village!  Whether these little people are to become rugby players, teachers, doctors or leaders of South Africa one thing is for sure, they now have the opportunity thanks to the Village and its supporters to be anything they want to be!  We here at the blog pledge to donate our time and resources, wherever we can, to the village!

We also ask that you spend time this year either helping the LIV village or another chariy that is clos to your heart!

*Love&Peace*
