Thanks to The Sharks and Top Billing (after a segment on the village and Pat Lambie last year) we here at Fairytales and Stalkers found a charity that we truly believe in!  The LIV village in Verulam, Durban is a place that has a vision, to look after the vulnerable children of South Africa.  Founded by Tich Smith and his wife Joan, their vision was to build 10 000 villages all over that would positively impact the lives of 500 orphans in each village! Through these villages 5 million orphans would be raised "the right way".  The children would be "rescued, raised and rebuilt to become future leaders impacting the continent of Africa, reaching out to other orphans".  Tich and Joan believe that the church is the answer to the growing problem of orphans in South Africa, Africa and the world!  We too share their beliefs and this is why we have chosen the LIV village to be our charity for 2013.  Through our blog we hope to raise awareness to our followers, readers, families and friends about this wonderful job that Tich and Joan are doing in Verulam. Not only does the village boast homes for the vulnerable children that need them with house mothers to love and care for each child but the village also boasts a school and Church, two of the main things a child needs if they wish to succeed in life.

Injured SHARKS need TLC!

The 2013 Rugby season finally kicked off for us avid rugby supporters here in South Africa, with warm up games before the start of the Super Rugby next week!  However after last Fridays (8 Feb 2013) game even though the Sharks dominated the game scoring 11 tries and ending the game on 71-8, the celebration were cut short when it was stated that both Keegan Daniel A.K.A Captain Awesomeness and Tim Whitehead had been injured and would likely miss the first few games of the Super Rugby tournament.  Whilst social media as well as online media reports that Tim suffered a broken arm, which would cause him to miss at least 6 weeks of rugby, the reports aren't looking as good for Sharks Captain Keegan Daniel.  Hes reported to have suffered an MCL injury, he to could miss 6 weeks or the entire season depending on the severity of the injury.

Whilst Tim Whitehead has kept mum about his injury, Keegan has stated on both Twitter and Facebook that he "took a slight knock" and that "assessment are to follow" as well as that he woke up on Saturday feeling "really blessed but with a slightly sore knee".   Either Keegs is one tough good looking man, his knees not as bad as reports claim or he's on some really strong painkillers.  Newspapers have reported that Keegs will be having a MRI today to determine the severity of the injury.  All we can do as his supporters is hope and pray all goes well and that we see him soon back in action leading the Sharks to victory.  After all this is the year when he's meant to quiet rugby critics and lead the Sharks to victory in the Super Rugby and Currie Cup tournaments!  We were also hoping that we would get to see both our boys side by side in the Green and Gold this year!

The Sharks were not the only team to loose players during the warm up games this week! Eben Etzebeth of the Stormers has been ruled out for 6-8 weeks after injuring his ankle.  These injuries so early in the year make us wonder if the warm up games prior to the start of SR are really necessary, we've lost two of our best players (not to mention captain) before SR even kicked off!  We may be being a little biased because we LOVE Keegs and Timmy but we think they are the best in their relative positions in the Sharks team!

All we can do is pray that Keeg's MRI reveals nothing to serious and that the boys are back on the feild playing side-by-side soon!  One things for sure, they need some TLC and we know just the 2 girls that are willing to give it to them!  Feel free to leave your messages of support for the boys as well as feedback here!

Gossip Girl (Acapulca) Returns!!!!!

Ahhhh the words we thought we would never hear again on our TV's (unless of course you watch SABC then we guarantee that you will watch re runs of Gossip Girl for the next 10 years!) again... BUT, it turns out that we might just get to (kind of) see all our favs from the upper East side grace our screens again! Multiple online media sources have reported that Pedro Torres (who we guessing is a Mexican TV channel) and Warner Bros, have teamed up to create a Mexican version of GG! Whether this is an inspired (or just a really bad) idea, we will have to wait and see! Although, we have to say, we kind of looking forward too seeing it! (Confession time stalkers: Our girl Jackey is a secret Telanovela addict! The more ridiculous the storyline and the worse the english voice overs are, the more she enjoy them!)

Uhmmm.... Okay don't tell us then GG. Do they know that we already know Dan is GG or are they gonna pretend throughout that we have no clue??  Well since they not gonna tell us who GG is, then we might as well  tell you who the new actors/actresses playing the beautiful, rich, and elite is, on the show.

First up Vannessa Garcia (Abrams) played by Margarita Munozes. And if you have a secret telenovela adiction like us, you may recognise her from Love her to death (La quiero a morir) as Andrea. No matter how bad her storylines, she gives great performances!

Then there's the rest of the cast! (see pictures). Names have been changed but they look a lot like the real deal! Don't you think so too??

                                                                                                                                       

Love it or Hate it??

Well that's for you to decide!  Whether or not it will make it past season one ... Well we don't know, but we would watch it (even if its just for the ridiculous story lines and horrendous English voice overs!) Is it something you are dying to see or praying gets cancelled?

Every year at the stroke of midnight millions upon millions of people around the world make a bunch of resolutions (which they don't always keep, yup we all are still trying to eat healthy *sigh*).  Ok let’s not get distracted here. A Big Mac just called my name. Where we, again?

Now one thing’s for sure: new year = new beginnings. And it seems that 2013 is no different for many of our favourite celebs (and a certain Shark’s hottie). Change seems to be a brewing and we’ve got the lowdown...(Try to hold the tears and awww’s *its gonna be difficult*)

Whether they were the dumpers or the dumpees (something we might never know, hmm maybe if we stalk just right... *evil laugh*),the Biebs, Jason Trawick, Harry Styles and even the gorgeous Timmy Whitehead have started 2013 exactly the same – HEARTACHE! The year has not been kind to them, with our fav boys needing a hug.

Rumour has it that our beloved Haylor - Harry Styles (18) and Taylor (22) - broke up over her love of antique and vintage as well as the fact he thought she was a prude. Now not to diss Taylor but hasn't she been with nearly 13 different guys over the last year and half? Prude?!? #justsaying. 

But for whatever reason they broke we feel another hit coming up perhaps a good song title "Wrong Direction" ?!? TSwift if you wanna collab, please call us! We need to get those recording careers started asap!

On again off again couple Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber seem to have called it quits again! Just before New Years too! With Selena walking out of their New Years’ VaKay on New Years Eve! (Hmm was Justin under the Mistletoe at all this season?)  Sources that say the young Disney starlet heard some pretty cruel words from the Biebs like "don't let the door hit you on the way out!". Hmmm maybe he was just giving advice so she didn't get hurt by the door (or on second thoughts maybe it was an insult!).

With the Biebs reportedly phoning Selena at least 100 times a day, maybe it’s not over quite yet for the gorgeous pair! (Makes us think of when Britney (Spears) and the other Justin (Timberlake) ended things #Sad. Read about BritBrits heartbreak below! *gasp*).

But if it is maybe BFF's Taylor and Selena could collaborate and create a hit single about Styles and Bieber?!?  Hmm any suggestions on a title?

Our favorite 90's popstar Britney Spears seemed to be getting her life on track thanks to the love of a good man, fiancé, Jason Trawick! She was judge on X-factor, engaged, finally becoming a great mum to her little boys not to mention she has a hot new single with Will.I.am! But just a few days ago she told the world that *gasp* she leaving X-factor (really going to miss her insightful judging (I feel like..... Awesome!) 

 Not to mention those strange facial expressions! But that she's also left her fiancé Jason and given back her ring! Nooo! Tell us it isn’t so! Reports are they broke up over talk of more kids! Let's just hope that the infamous pink wig and British accent doesn't make a come back! But BritBrit, we still heart you and are always in hope that one day you and JayTee try again (sorry Jessica, we hardened fans).

 Whilst we don't know the reasons for a break up or anything about the girl besides her name (Kimmy) we had to add this one in! After all the bromance and support shown from two fellow rugby hotties, Conrad Hoffman and Louis Ludick, their tweets of support had us girls going Awe!!!! (Check their tweets out and go awe with us!)  

Offering to find him a "trou vrou" and letting him know that any girl would be lucky to have him! Now that's true friendship! Lucky for us Shark supporters (as Timmy pointed) out he can now focus on his rugby! (Yes that's right let all your frustration out on the field! And bring home the Cup!)

Its's here! Sharks vs Dolphins! Or is it Jen Li vs Darren Maule?

 Hey there our fellow stalkers! We know we've been a bit quiet lately but that doesn't mean that we've been slacking off.   We do come bearing good news!

 We recently got in contact with East Coast Radio, who have given us an opportunity to not only meet the players at Sunday's Sharks vs Dolphins game, but also play on the pitch with them! When we heard the exciting news, we jumped at the chance! This could be the start of a beautiful love story, with the lead characters being none other than our girl @Jackey_101 and her Knight in shining armor, @KeeganDaniel.

Darren Maule (@darrenmaule) of the East Coast Radio Breakfast Stack, has accepted our challenge to take him on and out at Sunday's game! He has also offered us an incentive. IF we can get a 6, we can win R1000 or IF we can get a 4, we can win R500.

So will the Dolphins be able to fend off the Sharks attack?? And will Jen Li win that cash prize and finally start planning Keegz and Jackey's wedding?

Come down to the Sahara Kingsmead Stadium on Sunday the 13-01-13 and show some support for not only the Sharks but also for the ultimate love story of our future Rugby WAG, Jackey and her soon-to-be man Keegan! And show some love as we try and hit that 6 and get that R1000 to start wedding preparations for JaKee (btw that's Jackey and Keegan's power-couple name). 

Remember guys, as this is all in good fun, do remember that all money raised from this cricket match will be donated to charity.

No Justin Bieber for Durban!

Big Concerts?? More like small concerts. 
Thanks for nothing!

By now we are sure that everyone woke up to the news this morning that @JustinBieber is officially coming to South Africa in May 2013.  @BigConcerts released the tour dates over twitter this morning, yet once again our joy was short lived when we realised that Durban was left off the venues.  This is not new news to anyone, every time an International star is set to perform in South Africa Durban is left out.  @LadyGaga for instance only visited Cape Town and Johannesburg in her recent visit to South Africa.  After numerous attempts to get in touch with @BigConcerts over twitter, where we queried why Durban was not included we got no response.  Surprise surprise!  They would rather answer questions over why there were no tickets being sold for a meet and greet with the Biebs in the JHB and CPT concerts.  Our advice for the CPT and JHB concert goers is be grateful you are getting the concert; don’t complain over not getting a meet and greet.   We did however read in the newspapers this afternoon that the official statement from Big Concerts was that there is not a demand in Durban for the Biebs and that it would not be beneficial financially for them to include Durban.  Personally I am sure that there are thousands of Beliebers in Durban that would buy tickets for the show.

No matter how much we #Believe Durban wont get Justin!

Durbanites have to travel to either CPT or JHB if they want to attend one of the shows.  We have to pay for not only our tickets but then for transport to the city where the show is taking place as well as accommodation food etc.  Not to mention having to try take time off work to make one of the shows, and how are we to know in advance if we will get time off so that we can purchase the tickets before they are sold out.  So as you can see this works out to expensive for the average person.

Our advice to Big Concerts?  Why not share the concerts between Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.  If two of the cities get one act for e.g. CPT and JHB got Lady Gaga let Justin Bieber perform in CPT and DBN the next star can perform in DBN and JHB and so on.  If the Durbanites can travel why can’t the other cities!  And please don’t tell us anymore there is no demand in Durban, if you gave us half the chance I’m sure we would show you!
