Our Fairytale

Just 3 everyday princesses looking for a fairytale...even if it involves a lil stalking...

What We Learnt in 2013

This year has been one of the most weird and wonderful years’ for us three princesses by far. There were ups – growing friendships that we never saw coming, and then there were downs – losing people we never saw going away.  But there was one main lesson:

So what’s actually been happening in the lives of our 3 princesses, you ask? Well, here goes. . .

@Smurfett_Li:

The beginning of this year started off a bit shaky for me. But I soon realized that what I thought was the loss of friendships, turned out to be a discovery of the real ones. But as they say, “You live and learn”.

This was a pretty painful lesson to learn

Now enough with the life lessons, let’s get to the good stuff!  So first off, I got a cool new job that lets me chill with the people I’ve secretly stalked *sshh*. The other day we got to have coffee with a cool new friend…wait for it……Charl Crous! We may have mentioned him just a few times before on our blog….just in passing *says in high-pitched unbelievable voice*.  Yes guys, chilling with the rich and famous really is a day job! So basically I’m convinced that I’ve found my calling!

Charl Crous with the team of Jeera
Sadly I was too busy working to snap a pic
But *wink wink * nudge nude* Charl - next time lunch and a pic is on you

And in even BIGGER news: I also got my license this year *whoop whoop* but I’m still tryna get the hang of the whole driving thing.  Poor Carrie (@Carriekups) is often the victim of my driving. And yes, I said *victim* for a reason #NuffSaid

@Jackey_101:

Here is another missy who also got herself a new job! Since qualifying as a teacher, she is now enjoying her 2-week holidays every 3months *aahh the life of a teacher* . I really should’ve stuck with studying the teaching thing…. On second thought, teachers don’t get paid to have coffee with Charl Crous. It’s ok Jackey, you can stay our designated teacher. She also became an aunt to a gorgeous lil boy named Matthew aka her new shopping buddy (and possibly new way of luring Keegan – we hear he likes kids).  Ooh ooh and not forgetting that she too is on her way to being a licensed driver! Yaris, HERE. WE. COME!

Matthew is definitely how we are going to get Keegs to notice Jackey
when she is riding around in her cute yellow Yaris

And as for our other musketeer..

 @CarrieKups

Well when I asked her about her year in review, she said that this one pic typified her year:

The first few months of the year started off a bit rocky for Carrie too. She realized that nothing lasts forever, whether it’s good or bad. But the thing that she learned was that through it all – good or bad – she will always have people she can count on.

So whether you taking a quick break from your manic day at work to get a small giggle from our blog, or enjoying your school holidays and want to brush up on your stalking skills while you have some spare time ( we all gotta start somewhere), always remember to appreciate the special people who are are in your life right now and even the ones that were once a part of your life coz after all, some people come into your life as blessings and others just as lessons.

Happy holidays! Beauties! Let the shopping B-E-G-I-N!

*Love&Peace*

Nail Art Ideas for Christmas 2013!

So it's no surprise that we absolutely ADORE Christmas. What's not to love about family, friends, friendly strangers (not in that creepy kind of way), pudding, pressies, and of course the Christmas atmosphere?

So why not incorporate a little bit of cheer on our nails! That's rights girls, we decided to go all festive on our nails and toes-seys. Come the 21st of Dec, all our nails and toes shall be spreading the Christmas cheer (that's our contribution to the world of art) Here is our pick of great nail ideas for Christmas!

1. The Santa Hat French Tip

Definitely something @Jackey_101 would try...

2. The Snowflake Gel Overlay

A lil more of @CarrieKups' style

3. The Mistletoe

Best excuse to kiss a cute guy,
just raise your hand in the air and he has to lay one on you
(just make sure you get him to stand under your mistletoe nail art *starts planning*

4. Santa's Blinged Out Little Helpers

@Smuefett_li has already claimed this one as hers

5. A Little Toe Magic

Don't forget to do them toes girls!

So here is yet another way to go festive this season. Which will you be doing?

*Love & Peace *

Carols by Candlelight and the #ObamaSelfie

Welcome to Christmas!

Our Christmas cheer saw us taking a bit of inspiration from everyone's favourite President, Big B (Barack Obama for those of you who aren't on nickname status with the Pres), while we mixed it up with a lil tradition a la Carols by Candlelight:

We all know this selfie #MostPowerfulSelfie e-v-e-r! #ObamaSelfie

Can anyone say #ChristmasSelfie ?

Then there was our version #MostChristmasySelfie e-v-e-r!
Ok fine selfies aside, we have really been getting into Christmas! Yes, we update our statuses everyday to the countdown to the BIG DAY!

On a serious note (yes, even we have those), remember to enjoy Christmas because as Charlotte Carpenter once said:

"If Christmas isn't found in your heart, you won't find it under a tree."

But before I go, I have to share the #MostAwesomeSelfie ever! Here is one of our many contributions to 2013 - The Year of the Selfie! My favourite one by Far!

*Love and Peace* my little elves!
@CarrieKups

Christmas is HERE! Well almost...

Now in this short few months that we have blogged our thoughts, I'm sure ya'll might have noticed that we 3 absolutely HEART Christmas!

Sucks, if you born in January...nobody has any money left..sorry @CarrieKups

A time for family, friends, and well of course SHOPPING! Sorry debit card, you might just be the only person who doesn't like Christmas (oooh and maybe my credit card as well hmmm *thinking*) but as we approach the Festive Season, we had a little throwback...

Christmas is a time for reconciliation, reflection, and growth as we approach the year ahead. If that school bully ticked you off in the year - Forgive. If your parents might have annoyed you in the year - Forget. And if you might have disappointed yourself - Let Go and Grow.

We decided on the great Nelson Mandela's words as our Festive Season thought:

"“One of the things I learned when I was negotiating was that until I changed myself, I could not change others.”

So here is to Christmas and all beauty and love is stands for! If you are celebrating the birth of Jesus like us three, then remember to truly celebrate the meaning of Christmas for you and your family! And if not, Christmas still brings the message of love, peace, and joy for all! After all, that's the feeling we get from spending time with our loved ones :)

As always beauties, *Love & Peace*

Or should we say "Joy to the World!" *and que Christmas carols NOW!* Go! Jackey, start the intro...

2013: The Year of the 'Selfie' - even Pres Obama shows us no one can escape it

What do President Barazk Obama, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, and David Cameron all have in common with the girls of Fairytales & Stalkers?

Sure we all pretty powerful peeps (they are all heads of state and well we are heads of...of...of..awesomeness ok #DontJudgeUs we still making our mark on this world lol), but what else?

We ALL can't resist a selfie!

Sometimes our moms look like Michelle - slightly embarrassed by us

Yesterday this pic surfaced of these 3 taking a selfie (probably one of the most powerful selfies in the world). How often are you going to see 2 Prime Ministers and a President huddle in for a group selfie?

While some people think it was super inappropriate to do this at Tata's Memorial, I think it just shows that as powerful as they may be, they are still human - 3 friends capturing a moment. Insensitive- maybe. Disrespectful - you decide. But to me, it isn't something we should be focusing on; don't detract from Madiba's legacy. Besides, I can't really see Madiba getting angry over something like this (after all, he is the man who pretty much taught compassion to a nation). But on a much lighter note, I thought I'd highlight some of our favourite selfies - seeing as we too now have something important with the World's Leaders.

Warning: some of these are really really bad! But we have awesome memories attached to every one (Jackey and Jen may kill me for this):

There was the SharkTank...

The most wishful selfie ever
"Three (future) WAGs on the try line

Then there was the beach...

Cutest photobombers ever I'd say...

There was the Playhouse...

Yes I know, that haircut was a BIG mistake
The fringe is growing out

And then there was even the dance floor...

And you guys say I can't multitask
I busted moves AND selfied!

So this was pretty much our 2013: The Year of The Selfie. So I'm sure you too have some pretty awesome selfies (even though people tell you its lame, forget them because we all do it). Enjoy them and remember a selfie is just a memory so don't take it too seriously (yes, I am saying please don't actually try and be sexy in one - just have fun!) Oh dam, I probably should have taken my own advice before I took this one *gasp*

A self-confessed selfie princess
@CarrieKups
As always my lovelies...

Forget the Haters...cause Somebody Loves Ya!

Ok so Miley Cyrus once said (or should I say sang), "And we can't stop, and we won't stop....it's we who bout that life" a bunch of other things that some people were horribly dismayed at (there was some twerking involved of course) but then there was this line "Forget the haters cause somebody loves ya."

Now before you think I am using my favourite Disney star to teach life lessons. Keep Calm (yeah I am still in that phase) and think about it - Forget the Haters cause there IS somebody who loves ya. It's a little lesson in gratitude...

The other day I was feeling extremely down because it came to light that a few people weren't too thrilled at my existence (aka they just don't like me). I wrecked my brain trying to find out what it is that I did so wrong - there were some tears, then there was anger, a feeling of rejection, and eventually there was insight:

.
So what I am actually trying to say is chin up and smile. Even when you feeling down, look at everything through the eyes of gratitude and be grateful for all those somebodies that LURV YA! And of course,be like Miley and forget the haters...

But let's not call them peasant now haha (this one is just someone creating there own pic here), however, I thought this would make you smile for the day. Thanks to my bestie @Jackey_101 for sending this one through. It brightened my day - See what happen when you focus on those somebodies that love ya?

As always *Love and Peace*, my little peaches

Ps: I am one of those people that love a ripe, juicy peach :)

#RipTata - Our Respect to a Great Man

While the world pays tribute to a great man, we too would like to remember Tata Madiba...

Because of his commitment to growing a nation, we three had the opportunity to be friends...

Never forget to value your freedom

*Love & Peace, guys*

Getting to know Danilo our "Umlungu"

The Gorgeous Danilo strikes a pose!
He's on your T.V every week on the highly popular SABC2 variety teen show HecticNine9, he's gorgeous, fashionable, single and shares our taste in rugby teams.  We got the chance to interview the gorgeous Danilo Acquisto a few weeks ago to find out who he is away from the cameras and what his future plans are (not to mention 2 really important questions). Here it is the long awaited for interview of Danilo S.A's next Ryan Seacrest!

With his co presenters on HecticNine9
1). South Africa sees you almost every day on SABC 2's HecticNine 9, but whose the real Danilio (besides our fav Umlungu). Describe yourself in 3 adjectives and explain why?  Firstly, my name is spelled Danilo ;-). I'm driven, entrepreneurial and quirky.

2). How did you get into presenting? And is this what you see yourself doing in years to come? My story isn't very interesting. In my first year at UCT I was hosting the afternoon drive show on UCT Radio. One afternoon I arrived for my show and there was a camera crew there. They asked me to audition so I did. I was horrible. Luckily for me, one of the presenters was sitting in on my audition and immediately phoned the producer and told her that they had found the one they were looking for. The viewers then voted and the rest is history. I finished my degree and am now presenting full-time. In the years to come I definitely see myself diversifying my brand - moving into radio, producing TV and radio, working on 6B and starting a family.

3). What or who motivates you? God is at the centre of everything I do. But what keeps me motivated has always been my drive to see change in South Africa. I am an idea creator and I want to learn as much as I can now to see my ideas change the world in a small way.

4).   We all have strengths and weaknesses.  Name one strength and one weakness you have that would surprise us ... Strength: I'm very creative and driven;  Weakness: I'm a little too critical (uhmm ... we saw that after miss spelling your name, our apologies once again *hugs*)

5). We all want to be remembered for doing something great in our lives ... Tell us something about you that people will remember ... I will be that guy in industry who never compromised his morals in a chase for money or fame. I will be known for being the most driven and talented in a wide sphere of skills. I want people to realise that I studied law and didn't take the easy route into TV or into the limelight.

6). The online magazine 6B Magazine was recently launched on May the 1st of which you are a partner in, tell us a bit about the magazine ... 6B was created for people who are interested in the media industry whether that be music, drama, marketing, PR, TV, radio. We realise that not much information is being shared about how to get in to the industry and so we provide as much information as we can. We interview all the big names in the industry and they provide our readers with practical advice on getting into the industry. Aside from that we do tech reviews, app reviews and we have a whole section dedicated to resources where we have some funky CV templates which can be downloaded, acting tips, tutorials, a full list of universities that offer creative degrees and their application forms and bursary options. There is so much to find on the site that all I can say is that you would have to visit www.6bmag.com to join the movement and take your future into your own hands. The more questions you ask us the more answers you will receive from industry.

7). What do you hope the magazine achieves in the coming months? We are hoping to keep as many resources coming in to the site so that people use our site as a daily inspirational and information source. From there we look forward to finding opportunities for young creative’s to get involved and contribute to the success of the site.

8). Your bold fashion on HecticNine9 is often the topic of tweets where do you find your fashion inspirations? My style took time. And it is forever evolving. I'm really only inspired by my own eye. It's silly to look at a magazine and see what looks good on a muscular model and expect that to look good on me. So I trust my gut I guess... I'm definitely no style icon though.

9). Speaking of tweets, you get a lot of attention on twitter from girls, but a question that many girls want to know (we are sure) is there a special someone in your life? Luckily for all of your readers I am single. Unlucky for them but I am single by choice. I want to give the girl I am with everything I have and currently I am just too busy with my career that I won’t be able to treat any girl like the queen she deserves to be treated like.

10). Where were you and how did it feel the first time you were recognized as "that guy from hecticNine9" and realized you had reached Zaleb status? Shoowee. It took my fans a while to get used to me as I have transformed quite a lot since I started on the show. The first time I was ever approached in public was while I was at the ice rink at Grand West Casino and a few girls came up to me crying asking for a photo. It was very humbling and sweet. I am definitely not a Zaleb. I am too focused on being the best in my fields that I don't have time to live the high life. That's not fame in my eyes.

11). If you could stalk any Zaleb/Celeb who would it be and why? I think it would have to be Hermione Jean Granger (Emma Watson) from Harry Potter. I think she is beautiful and must have so much to share about her life growing up. She seems very humble.

12). STALKED IN 6!
#1) favourite food:
Sushi/seared Tuna
#2) favourite drink: Cranberry Juice
#3) Rugby Team: (be warned there is only one correct answer according to us) SHAAAAAARKS!!!! (Danilo gets an A+ with that answer! #SharksForever)
#4) which 3 south Africans, besides us 3 girls, would you love to have as dinner guests? And why. Julius Malema for his unintentional humour and because I love making fun of dumb politicians, Gareth Cliff because he is a good friend and I enjoy his intellectual conversations, and finally Madiba because I feel like he needs a break and would enjoy seeing us talk about the legacy our generation wants to leave to keep his hope alive.
#5) your favourite colour and why? Blue. I'm not too sure why but I think it is quite striking and is masculine but not too plain.
#6) We love reality TV! If you had your own show what would you call it? Umlungu gone wild (Sounds great, hope we get a guest appearance on the show)

13). And finally, what are your dreams and goals for your future? Where do you see yourself in say 5 years? I want to be the next Ryan Seacrest. I want to be on TV, producing TV, on radio, producing radio and owning my own company. I am half way there but I really would like people to recognise me for my hard work as opposed to some pseudo-fame.

Dale Horne: Definitely our #MrSA2013 - Read his Interview HERE!

As you may have heard in our previous post we had the chance to ask Dale Horne (A.K.A #HisRoyalHotness, yes we like him so much we even hash tagged him) a few questions!  And here it is our interview with one of Durban's hottest hunks. A huge shout out to our #FavDJ, Deon Govender for introducing us!

In case you haven't heard OUR boy (yes, we are claiming him) is a finalist in MR. South Africa 2013 and he needs y'all votes to get him crowned.
All y'all need to do is sms "MRSA17" to 47439! Just look at his pics don't y'all think he deserves to win? If you still not convinced sit back and get to know our boy a little more, we sure at the end of this post y'all will be working those fingers and smsing those votes!

So here's the interview, we even got the answers to those two really important questions all you ladies are dying to know! Does he have a girlfriend and which rugby team does he support? Born and Bred Durban boy **Hint Hint**
So ladies, grab that hot chocolate and sit down and enjoy 1.86 m, dark and handsome...

#FutureMrSa
So to our ladies out there who don’t know you, describe yourself in three adjectives and explain why.
Organized – I know! Very uncommon for a man but look in my clothing cupboard and you will see what I mean! I have to always be tidy and need structure in my life.
Motivated – I’m a strong believer in motivation. Motivation has made me achieve personal goals that I never thought would be possible.
Ambitious – I am constantly pushing myself to be the best that I can be and try to pass that ambition onto others.

Hmm motivated (one of our fav qualities in a guy). #Nice. What or who motivates you, and why?
Listening to Swedish House Mafia and Calvin Harris motivates me through those early morning gym sessions. Do yourself a favour and get these albums on your iPod, you can thank me later for starting the day off like a boss.

We can definitely see the ambitious quality! I mean early morning gym sessions! #Damn. So, tell us a little about your goals and dreams.
Well as you know, I am currently a Mr South Africa 2013 finalist so at the moment most of my focus and short-term goals are set towards winning this pageant and representing South Africa on a global scale. I am also a fitness enthusiast and businessman, so there are a few long-term goals that I am constantly working on to better myself.

You see yourself making an impact on society?
Definitely! I would not have entered Mr South Africa 2013 if I did not believe that I could make an impact. I feel that I have reached a stage in life that I can be an example to people who need to find that motivation in their life in order to achieve fulfilment whether it being in business, health or life in general.

Tell us what sets you apart from other contestants?
I am a brand ambassador for USN and GUESS SA as well as a business Director at Whistle Blowers (Pty) Ltd. Mr South Africa is the ideal platform for an individual who is motivated, presentable and knowledgeable. I believe that I have reached that point in life where I have obtained a healthy lifestyle while succeeding in the business environment, yet still willing to learn and grow as a person. So please vote for me - SMS MRSA17 to 47439!

Liverpool fan score!
Hmm now that ripped bod tells us you are flawless, what are your weaknesses?
Supporting Liverpool FC, times are tough at the moment with all these Manchester United supporters around.  Gosh, tell us about it! Smurfett_Li and CarrieKups are also LFC supporters #YNWL

We heard that  you were a fleeting soccer stud in Europe ;) Which club did you play? And did you get the opportunity to play with any of today's well known footballers?

I played for Eastbourne FC, who a few years later got promoted after I returned back home….I must of been the weak link in the side;-) Majority of the great footballers in England are snatched up by the top clubs from the age of 12, so unfortunately I never got to play with or against the well known players of today.

Competition Prep Time!
We thought that since you are a finalist in Mr SA we would take this opportunity to ask you a few of those pesky "have to think on your feet" pageant questions as a bit of practice so...

What would you do to promote world peace? (Cause no pageant is complete without a question on World Peace!)
Tell me about it! Love & Respect

What is the most pressing problem South Africa faces today?
Rape and Abuse against woman.

Which cartoon character would you like to be, and why?
It would have to say Donatello from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Besides the fact that I used to run around the house chasing the cats and dogs in my ninja turtle outfit, he has to be one of the coolest cartoon characters out there!

One thing about us is we love our reality TV! If you could have your own reality show what would you call it?
 Living the life of dreams

If you could stalk any Zaleb/Celeb who would it be and why?
Floyd Mayweather! He is the epitome of dedication, determination, desire and living life to the fullest

What is the one thing that sets a woman apart from a man?
Men are going to hate me for this but I would have to say their maturity. Sorry boys but I know that you are agreeing with me even if it is on the quiet. I have always found that most woman act older than their age. Us men will always have that inner boy inside of us, which is apparent when we all get together. Ask my father; I think he still thinks that he is in his late 20’s.

If you were not here where would you be?
Probably in Franchhoek, sipping on wine and watching the sunset with my family and girlfriend. Terrible I know!
**Sorry girls, there is a gf…**

Which 3 dinner guests, besides us of course, would you most like around your dinner table?
Besides you beautiful girls….Trevor Noah, Gareth Cliff and John Smit. That would most definitely be a very entertaining dinner filled with lots of stories and good laughs.

Now for the Serious stuff

Everyone has a mission in life. What do you think your mission is?
I would say that my mission is to make the most of the opportunities that I am blessed with and look back at my life with having no regrets. I would like to be able to encourage individuals to excel in their own personal goals and to never be afraid of dreaming big. On a more personal note I would also like to work more with the charities that have been close to my heart for the past 5 years and create more exposure for them.

Low self esteem is something that can creep up on us ever so often, what’s your secret to staying confident?
I believe in my abilities and enjoy working towards goals that I know I can achieve, both short-term and long-term. I have been fortunate enough to meet some special people, who have been very supportive to me, making me grow more confident as an individual.
One more question: Can we stare  into those eyes?

Finally, tell us something that will make people remember you.
Ask me that questions again at the end of August and hopefully my answer would be, “The winner of Mr South Africa 2013 that South Africans can be proud of and associate with!”

Stalked in Six Questions
Fave Colour: Black
Fav food: Sushi

Ryan "Shocked at AXING"

"And so are the days of our ...... Sharks" ?!?! Huh? What?... Yes, you heard it right readers, seems like or beloved Sharks team are set on giving the actors on Days of Our Lives a run for their money lately! With 11, count them ELEVEN, changes made to this weeks team playing against the Chiefs in New Zealand, there's enough shock value there to rival one of Stefeno Dimera's many returns from the dead! The Captain, Keegan, has been dethroned (well benched really) with Jean Deysel taking over Captain Duties for the game. There's a rift between veteran player Ryan (hmmm... It is okay to call him a veteran after 10years) and coach Plum off field that's seems to be spreading on field. There's rumors of fighting between boys and an injury list so long you would be forgiven for thinking they were victims of a Salem make that Durban stalker ... (Um wait scratch that stalker comment y'all might think its us). Of course no soapie would be complete with out a few girly weight issues thrown in, in this scenario Frans Steyn is the girl with Plum being cast as the mean popular girl calling him out for being to chubby! ... Okay okay so we getting a bit dramatic, but things seem to be off in the team lately!
Is there more to the story then the claims???
The changes we can put down as a "surprise tactic" on Plums behalf, and maybe he's changing things up a bit since the usual team haven't been doing so well lately! But what really surprised us is the rumors (that our girl Jackey called the moment Ryan was axed from the team) that have been going around. Before he left for Japan there was talk about how Plum and Kankowski didn't get along, and now it seems that it wasn't all talk. Kankowski spoke out to a journalist about his axing saying :

"Of course I’m upset about being axed; the Sharks have been my (flippin'') life for the last 10 years and it came as a shock to me,"

In the article Kankowski went on to say:

"I’m contracted until the end of the year but this has certainly made me rethink my future at the Sharks, But Durban is my home and it’s a special place to me."

Hmm could we be loosing a player through this rift? Well we don't know what's up between the pair (they've denied a rift) its clear something is, especially when a few reasons have been given as to why he was axed amongst them: he's out of form, his loyalty to the Sharks and Japan not being good for him. After he was axed word is the pair got into a heated argument and with Kankos recent comments, we'll let you decide

uhmm . . . Did Plum really just go there??

Frans is back to starting which is strange, with Kanko being axed because Plum felt he wasn't fit enough, frans who Plum has been very vocal about his current weight gain is still playing. Is it only us that sees some players getting different treatment?

Is there any truth to the rumours of friction between the players??

We've also heard that there's a bit of tension between the boys, a "source" who attended a game in pre season saw Paul accidently elbowed in the face by Frans during warm ups, but when Frans apologized (and kept on apologising through out) Paul was all uptight and wouldn't accept it. Hmm doesn't seem like the going ons of a tight team! We not to quick to jump in on a rift between the players though, they do all seem quite close on twitter but then again look at how they playing, clearly not as a team!

Between all the rumors, apparent rifts and change up should we be concerned for our team? It seems that a few tweeps are concerned, demanding answers about whats going on at the Shark Tank!  Do they need group therapy or team building and can John get here soon enough to sort out the issues so our team can restore them selves to great team they once were? Well only time will tell! What are your views on the current situation and rumours we are hearing from the tank?

*Love&Peace*

P.S  no matter what we still L-O-V-E our boys in black and white and will always support them no matter what!  #SharksForever
