How to Get Great Skin

Every girl wants to look picture perfect with flawless skin. How else will we look glamorous in our future paparazzi pics? As future WAGS, we thought we would share our top 5 tips to great skin.

Remember girls, great skin doesn't happen overnight so practice these tips and wait for your results!

Here are our 5 steps to better skin:

1.       Cleanse

Never underestimate the power of daily maintenance. Wash your face at least once a day with a gentle cleanser. Wash twice a day if you suffer from oily skin. Treat your skin as it were fine silk – using a gentle circular motion upward from your neck rather vigorously scrubbing.

Be sure to be gentle

2.       Sun Protection

A good sunscreen is important for sun protection as well as to prevent moisture loss. Aim to use a moisturizer with a built in broad spectrum SPF 30 or apply sunscreen under your moisturizer. Be sure to invest in a good quality oil-free, water-based product. NEVER leave home without applying sunscreen.

3.       Moisturize

Invest in a good moisturizer as part of your skin regime.  Applying a moisturizer will create a barrier on your skin that keeps essential oils from escaping and harmful outside elements from causing dryness or irritation. Try to avoid using just an ordinary lotion. Be sure to use a moisturizer with a built in SPF - this will somewhat protect you from wrinkles as you grow older. Let's age gracefully beauties!

4.       Diet

Your skin needs to be hydrated from the inside out. If your diet isn't already rich in Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, take a vitamin supplement. Change your diet to include lots of green veggies such as broccoli spinach, and asparagus. Also, make sure you also include plenty of antioxidant-rich food such as blueberries, green tea, avocado, and beans. Nut and berries can be great to snack on, instead of chips and chocolates. But indulge once in a while...as we always say everything in moderation.

Must eat foods

5.       Sleep

Your sleeping pattern has a big part to play in your quest to picture-perfect skin. They don’t call is beauty sleep for nothing. Cortisol, the stress hormone, ages the skin and can cause acne. Sleep is known to reduce the cortisol level in your body. So don’t feel guilty when you hit the bed by nine o’clock. You are well on your way to looking like Sleeping Beauty! Aim to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.
