“Cassidee – The next YouTube Sensation?” by @Jackey_101

The guys in action on stage!
This past week, we got a tweet from @CassideeMusic a new French band asking us to check them out on Youtube, Yes new bands do ask us to check them out cause let’s face it our opinion really matters to people! They may have tweeted a few other twitter users too, but that’s not really the point here!  Once we had listened to the bands cover of PayPhone on YouTube, we knew that they had something special.  This band is really talented!  One of their original songs “Don’t Pass Me By” is a real gem!   Cassidee sounds nothing like that over-processed and commercial pop music that we seem forced to listen to lately (think Selena Gomez and the Scene or even Justin) Sorry Biebs.  Instead when you listen to their music, you are able to hear their voices and make out the lyrics, which is actually really great!

Now, not many may know Cassidee (since they’re new) but we got the opportunity to sit down and interview them. (Well, not really sit with them since they are in France) I think in a previous post we did note that our travel budget is like non-existent. Bank details are available on request and donations most welcome!Cassidee members when you read this remember you owe us your first big interview once you hit the big time, Deal??

The band Cassidee is made up of 3 really talented guys (there use to be 4 of them but one has left for personal reasons. Hmmm do I smell a story here?).  Tristan Renault (@CassideeTristan) plays the guitar and sings, Remi Bablon (@CassideeRemi) plays bass and does back up and then, there’s Kevin Cessin (@CassideeKevin) who plays the drums and also sings.  So that’s three guys that can all play an instrument AND sing!
The guys with ex-band member Thibault
Too bad that two of guys have girlfriends.  But we hear that Remi is single, ooh willing to mingle? Hehe… Sorry, girls you may have to fight for their affections because we girls might be their biggest fans!  The band got their name from “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (Tristans favourite movie) but changed the spelling because of the rapper, Cassidy.  Remi said  that since he watched a youtube video of Blink182 performing live 5 years ago, he knew that he wanted to make music.   “I feel like flying somewhere haha so hard to explain”, he said.

Don't stare into his eyes Tristan,
mine are waiting!
The band is from North Eastern France, and says they do not feel that being French has had any influence their music.  One thing I found, is that listening to them you would not be able to say they are ACTUALLY from France. their accents do not come across in their music at all! Albeit a very sexy French accent, I’m sure… When we told them this they replied that many people are surprised to hear that they are French.
Being young (all in their early 20’s) they said that they get a greater response from female fans; although they would like their music to appeal to everyone. They have received many positive responses from all over the world.  “Don’t Pass Me By” has already been aired on a Dutch radio station recently thanks to a fan in Australia.  Tristan writes all the songs for the band, and can be described as the sensitive guy ;) (we found this out after assuming they only do covers.  Note to self: True stalkers always do research on the subject!)

What would one of our blog posts be without any real stalkerish antics?  Well, we found a fans twitter account for the guys (@CassideeFans.)
Do we need to add them to our
list of best (un)dressed guys? hmmm!!
We also found out that Tristan is scared of spiders and Remi’s favorite color is purple and he only wears black socks! (okay we know that’s not really tantalizing info but hey we had to stalk from thousands of miles away!!!)

Ps: Guys, if you ever in South Africa, give us a call…Hopefully our Prince Charmings wouldn't mind too much…

So go check these guys out on YouTube/Twitter/Facebook/Myspace and anywhere else on the net. Let us know what you think of them.

Till the next victim! Love and Peace, Ladies!
